It’s not a celebrity-owned clinic, but it inspires even more trust in me than such clinics do: My real experience at Sinsa EGG Dermatology缩略图

A friend of mine who works in Seoul told me that it took her half a year to find a Dermatology clinic that she felt was worth the money—specifically, EGG Shinsa in Sinsa. At first, I thought she was exaggerating, but after I visited the clinic myself, I understood what she meant by “worth the money”. It wasn’t because it was the cheapest option, but because you could see exactly how much product was used, you could feel the results, and you could understand everything the director explained to you.

I. Why did I choose Sinsa EGG instead of those popular online clinics?

To be honest, EGG wasn’t on my list at all when I first started looking for clinics. Those well-known big-brand clinics in Gangnam are indeed very popular, but the experience there is a bit like going through a assembly line – the consultants would talk for a few words and then immediately start recommending treatment packages; if you asked any additional questions, they would seem a bit impatient. My friend said she had the same experience before, but one day, since her company was near Sinsa Station, she decided to give EGG a try and ended up becoming a regular customer there.

EGG’s core philosophy is actually quite straightforward: genuine medical equipment, transparent pricing, and the same prices for both Chinese and Korean customers. These three points may seem simple, but anyone who has undergone cosmetic treatments in Seoul knows that not many clinics actually practice them. Especially regarding the principle of “the same prices for Chinese and Korean customers,” many clinics charge foreigners a higher fee; however, EGG truly does not do this.

II. Where is the Sinsa EGG? It’s right at Exit 5 of Sinsa Station, right in front of you.

The address is 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th floors, No. 613 Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It may sound a bit complicated, but once you exit Exit 5 of the Sinsa subway station, you can see the sign right above you; it’s less than a minute’s walk from there.

This road is the main thoroughfare located alongside Carro Tree Road. There are numerous cafes and restaurants in the vicinity. After completing my project that time, I even stopped by for a cup of coffee before heading back home. It’s perfect for scheduling a one-day itinerary.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 11:00–20:30; Saturday and Sunday, 11:00–17:00. Note that if you visit in the afternoon, please avoid the lunch break hours.

III. Popular treatments at EGG Dermatology: Ultherapy Prime, Rejuran Baby Needle, Morpheus 8

To be honest, EGG has a fairly complete range of equipment. I have inquired about several of their main services, and here is a summary:

Lifting categories (the ones that interest me the most)

Ultherapy Prime (upgraded version of HIFU): This is the flagship Lifting treatment promoted by EGG. It utilizes real-time ultrasound guidance, allowing patients to see exactly where the treatment is being applied; as a result, it is safer than traditional HIFU techniques. It is ideal for issues such as Buccal Fat relaxation, neck wrinkles, and sagging eyebrow tips.

Thermage FLX: A representative device in the radiofrequency category that stimulates the regeneration of Collagen in the dermis. After the treatment, the skin feels tightened, and noticeable improvements usually begin after one month, with the effects reaching their peak between three and six months. The price of Thermage FLX using EGG technology starts at ₩490,000, which is considered a relatively reasonable price in the Sinsa area.

Sofwave: Its penetration depth is slightly shallower than that of the HIFU, making it suitable for those who wish to achieve Lifting effects in a gentle manner but are concerned about pain. The device is equipped with a cooling system, which significantly reduces the degree of discomfort.

Morpheus 8 (Potenza): A combination of microneedling and radiofrequency technology, equipped with a sapphire-cooled tip. It is effective for enlarged Pores, acne scars, and loose skin. A friend of mine tried it once; she said it was a bit painful, but the swelling subsided by the next day.

Skin care products

Rejuran: In EGG, this product is called “Smile Rejuran” and it is one of their flagship packages. It features painless injections, and when combined with Lifting treatments, it can achieve overall facial improvement.

Rejuran, Juvelook: There are also various options within the hyaluronic acid series – both Rejuran and Juvelook are suitable for those with dry, dull skin or Pores issues.

Joule BBL Photorejuvenation: It helps to improve spots, redness, and uneven skin tone. The device is equipped with cooling protection system; after the treatment, the skin may appear slightly red, but you can go out immediately, and by the next day, there will be almost no visible traces left.

IV. What is the experience like during a one-on-one consultation with Director Kim Dong-jun?

The representative director of EGG is Kim Dong-jun. He places great emphasis on one thing: before any treatment, every customer must undergo a skin examination. The specific treatments and the amount of treatment to be administered will be determined based on the customer’s current skin condition—not based on what the customer requests.

My friend said that when she went there for the first time, the consultant asked her many questions: what treatments she had done before, her current daily routine, and what was currently bothering her skin the most. Later, when the director came in and examined her again, he said that she actually didn’t need to have the HIFU treatment and suggested that she try Rejuran first to improve the moisture level of her skin. “He saved me a lot of money, but I trust him even more now,” she said.

This is a concrete manifestation of one of EGG’s three core commitments: “detailed, 1:1 personalized consultations.” The clinic director will not encourage you to spend more just because you are willing to do so; instead, they will truly consider the condition of your skin. I believe this is especially important for those who are visiting South Korea for beauty treatments for the first time – since you are not familiar with the environment, trust is of utmost importance.

V. What is the environment like at the EGG clinic? Based on my own observations…

The clinic occupies floors 3, 5, 6, and 7 of the entire building. As soon as the elevator doors open, you’ll come across the reception area – the space is quite spacious, nothing like those tiny clinics that are packed with people.

The waiting area is very clean, and the facilities are also fairly new. There are magazines and drinking water available, and the staff will take the initiative to explain the next steps, so there’s no need to wait idly by yourself.

The treatment rooms are independent compartments, and each room is equipped with necessary facilities and treatment beds, ensuring a high level of privacy. When I entered, I noticed that all the equipment was brand new, and the overall sanitary conditions were very reassuring.

Another point that makes EGG particularly friendly to foreigners is that it offers English-language services, and online reservations can also be conducted in English. If you, like me, are not very proficient in Korean, you don’t have to worry about language barriers when coming here. In addition, they provide Chinese customer service and have a Chinese-language official website; you can also get assistance through WeChat and KakaoTalk.
